Why use ZUV UV?

ZUV UV embossing and casting micro and nano replication machines are designed purposely for the replication of all types of micro structure including lenses, gratings and holograms. ZUV systems provide the opportunity to reproduce structures of varying thickness, by adjusting coat weight, speed and UV curing sensitivity. Where as conventional hard and soft embossing systems are limited to very low caliper replication, and restricted to the use of specific filmic substrates.

ZUV UV overcomes these problems, With the ability to emboss and cast on to substrates from 20 micron to 500 micron, by adjusting coat weight, coating method and run speed. Also it is possible to replicate structures and arrays from hundreds of nanometers to hundres of microns. And because this is possible, it means that a wide array of materials can be used as the base film for embossing on to. Including PP, PET, PC/PMMA etc. This and the fact that it is possible to develop customized UV coatings means the ZUV UV micro and nano embossing and casting process is suitable for a wide range of applications, both rotary reel to reel and flat sheet.

ZUV is also one of the best possible replication methods by maintaining structure replication accuracy and detail, very important for the reproduction of the optical characteristics of micro lenses and other optical elements and structures. Thus where applicable, it is also a good alternative and preferable to replication by means of injection moulding.

Applications include thin film prism and lenticular lens structures and arrays, de-pixelating lens for TFT LCD panels, SAW filters, etc. Infact many areas requiring small components and small optical lenses can benefit from ZUV UV nano embossing and casting micro replication.
